About Darren Baker
Darren has been developing video games professionally since 1992. He co-founded development company Wildfire Studios in 1995 and has headed business development and creation of all core technology, and co-founded Club Casual Games in 2008. He has also worked as a Senior Programmer at Kuju Entertainment, London and technology consultant to the Centre for Tropical Pest Management. Darren holds a Bachelor of Information Technology from the University of Queensland.
About Rhiannon Phillips
Rhiannon has over 10 years professional experience working in the creative industries. She originally trained to be a flutist gaining an Honours degree in music performance from the University of Queensland with distinctions in music technology. Rhiannon held the position of general manager of Brisbane Writers Festival, producing 5 festivals from 2002 – 2006. In 2001 she held the artistic administrator position of the Australian Festival of Chamber Music, playing a pivotal role in staging the tenth annual festival. Rhiannon has been involved in the creation of Wildfire Studio’s games since 2002 and is currently editor of Club Casual Games.
December M
December has been a gaming enthusiast since the 1980s and particularly loves casual games. She has a BA (Religious Philosophy) and is currently studying for her second BA in Internet Communications. In a prior life, December has been a writer for an online women’s magazine, a copywriter and web designer however most recently she has her own business as a Digital Scrapbook Designer. She teeters between genius and insanity – you can decide which. She’s currently considering writing a novel but worries it might take up too much gaming time.
About Ian Hannan
Ian has been a gamer both casual and hardcore since his childhood. Growing up with systems from the Atari and Nintendo Entertainment System to the Playstation 2 and Xbox 360, his experience with video games is quite broad. Ian is currently studying a Bachelor of Creative Arts with majors in English Literature and Drama, as well as a Diploma of Languages majoring in Japanese. With these degrees he is hoping to be a literary or game script translator in Japan.
About Aunty Di Loovyan
Aunty Di Loovyan (aka Barbara Baker) trained as a teacher at the (then) Kelvin Grove Teachers’ College, and obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University of Queensland in 1966, and a Master of Arts (Applied Linguistics) in 1999. She also holds an Associate Diploma (ASDA) and a Fellowship Diploma (FTCL) in Speech and Drama, and a Certificate for TESOL teaching. She has taught at primary, secondary and tertiary levels, in adult education and also by distance education. She has had brief sorties into the worlds of TV production, editorial assistance and language data research. She is a freelance book reviewer with The Courier-Mail and Good Reading Magazine and a game reviewer for Club Casual Games. Barbara has worked in Britain and Spain and travelled in parts of western Europe and Egypt. She plays poor social tennis; and she avoids housework, sewing and gardening whenever possible.
